Raquel Carnero De Varela

Raquel Carnero de Varela 61, of Amarillo died Friday, October 21, 2016 in Amarillo. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez, celebrant officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Raquel was born on September 2, 1955 in Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Librado and Manuela Carnero. She married Humberto Varela in 1976 in Chihuahua. Raquel moved to Amarillo in 1993, with her family, where she lived until her death. Raquel was an exemplary woman who showed kindness and love to everyone she met. She was dedicated and hardworking. Raquel was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was always sacrificing her needs for the good of her family. Raquel will always be remembered as a selfless, compassionate wife and mother who always had a comforting soul, even when times were rough. She had a quiet strength and immense faith. Raquel is survived by her husband, Humberto; three children, Ruth Varela, Noemy Varela and Carlos Varela all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Brenda Marquez, Marco Marquez, Jonathan Marquez, Desmond Wallace, Alyssandra Wallace, Carlos Varela, Jr. and Alexander Sepulveda.
