Ray Halsey

January 2, 2000 — July 20, 2002

Ray Halsey, 74, of Amarillo, died Saturday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Mary Morrissey of Crown of Texas Hospice officiating. Interment will be at Quail Cemetery in Quail, Texas. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage Street. Mr. Halsey was born November 18, 1927 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He has lived in Amarillo most of his adult life. He married Johnnie Blevins on October 1, 1947 at Amarillo. He served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated several businesses during his lifetime, including H & H Music and the Bait and Cast Club. He was an avid fisherman. He loved his family and enjoyed telling jokes and long stories. Survivors include: His wife, Johnnie of the home; 1 son, Stevan Halsey of Canyon; and 3 granddaughters.
