Raymond 'Ray' J. Arias

Raymond J. Arias, 56, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Service is 2:00 pm Friday, October 15 at Rector Funeral Home Osage chapel officiated by Patrick Estrada. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Thursday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Ray was born in Amarillo on January 20, 1965, to Manuelita and Hermin Arias. Family meant everything to Ray. He had a passion for competition BBQ, he started smoking with his brothers for fun became so much more then. They traveled around to different competitions. He married the love of his life, Judy on February 15, 2003. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing, and playing pool. Ray taught a dance class at Amarillo College. He won many trophies dancing. He also was very good with his hands. He could fix anything that had a gas engine. Ray worked for Sinclairs warehouse for over 15 years. He was employed with the City of Amarillo, Traffic Department. Ray is survived by his wife, his sister, Yolanda Oropeza and her husband Rafael, his four brothers; Alfred Lovato and his wife Maria, Ernesto Arias, Henry Arias and his wife Julie, and Ruben Arias and his wife Renee, eight nieces; Denisse Lovato, Karlyn Medley, Melodie Zuniga, Pamela Arias, Andrea Arias, Cecelia Dinkel, Amanda Hammons, and Nicole Arias, five nephews; Daniel Lovato, David Arias, Joseph Arias, Benjamin Ortega, and Joaquin Ortega. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two nephews; Ronald Arias and Rafael Oropeza Jr.
