Raymond D. Murray 78, of Amarillo died Friday February 8, 2013 in Amarillo Graveside services will at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Butler Cemetery near Grove, OK., with Gaylord Blevins, pastor of Independent Baptist Church of Grove officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Murray was born on September 24, 1934 in Grove, OK to Denver and Jessie (Sixkiller) Murray. He moved to Amarillo in 1949. Mr. Murray served in the Army. He was stationed in Korea at the end of the Korean War. Mr. Murray was a hard worker. He was a diesel mechanic in Amarillo for many years. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing with his brother and brother in law. Mr. Murray was raised in the Baptist Church. He loved playing pool and was a long time member of the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Murray in 2011. He is survived by 2 sisters, Ruth LeMaster and her husband Jim and Juanita Fletcher, all of Grove; His half brother, 1 brother, Lloyd Doublehead and his wife Elizabeth of Gentry, Ark.; and 3 very special friends and caretakers, Dwayne Phillips and Virginia Hicks and Gerald Seitz all of Amarillo.
