Raymond C. ""Sonny"" Williams 79, of Amarillo died Monday March 8, 2010 in Amarilo Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Richard Higley officiating. Interment will be in the Field of Valor at Llano East Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St. Sonny was born in Beaver, OK on April 30, 1930 to George and Helen (Clark) Williams. He was the youngest of fourteen children. He joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 15. He worked as a carpenter for many years. He was a 60 year member of the Carpenter's Union #665. Sonny was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. He was a member of the Panhandle Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Association, where he made many friends. He also enjoyed working with antique cars and tractors. He was a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church. He married the love of his life, Louise Ward, on September 26, 1950. He is survived by his wife, Louise, two children, Jackie and Janet, both of Amarillo, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
