Reva Ray McNeill, 88, of Amarillo died Monday, Sep. 2, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, Amarillo, with Mr. Bill Wade, Pastor of Buchanan St. United Methodist Church and Monsignor Joseph Bixenman, Pastor of St. Marys church officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. at the Lockney Cemetery, Lockney, Texas. Mrs. McNeill was born Aug., 27, 1914 in Lockhart, Texas to Harmon LeRoy and Wilmetta Handley. She graduated in 1932 from Dougherty High School. She married J. Frank McNeill on Feb., 25, 1933, in Luling. The couple farmed in Floyd County until moving to Amarillo in 1943. Mrs. McNeill worked for AISD for 22 yrs. as Food Service Mgr. at Horace Mann & Palo Duro schools. Kids were her greatest joy, especially feeding them. She worked over 50 years with the Intl Order of the Rainbow for Girls and was a 50 year member of Amarillo Chapter #787, O.E.S. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; two brothers, Farrington & Harmon Handley; and two babies at birth. Survivors include two daughters, Melba King and husband, Wayne, of Gifford, IL, and Linda Sue Cassell, of Amarillo; a brother, Owen Handley and wife, Thomasine, of Midland; a special nephew, Troy McNeill and wife, Betty, of Lubbock. Six grandchildren include granddaughters, Debbie Boyd and husband, Steve, of Guthrie, TX, Patsy Hambleton and husband, Vance, of Rossville, IL, Cindy Venable and husband, Kelly, and Becky Burrier and husband, Chris, both of Amarillo; and grandsons, David Cassell of Yellville, AR, and Robert King and wife, Denise, of Gifford, IL. Ten great-granddaughters: Katie, Lisa, Sara, Kyla, Emily, Hannah, Holley, Hayley, Hope, and Addison; and two great-grandsons: Brandon and Cody; and numerous Cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will be at 7607 Loma Vista Drive. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to the Rainbow Girls “Lets Be Thankful Fund”, PO Box 444, Warren TX 77664 or to BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo TX 79105.
