Richard Strout

Richard ""Sonny"" Strout 72, of Amarillo died Wednesday April 29, 2010 at the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 South Osage St. Sonny was born in Amarillo. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 28, 1956 and was honorable discharged on November 13, 1959. Sonny loved playing the guitar. He also enjoyed quiet times and he loved his cats. Sonny worked as a truck driver, transmission mechanic as well as many odd jobs. Sonny was a loving husband. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tracey on November 1, 2001 and a brother, Donald Wayne Strout. Sonny is survived by his brother, Ronnie Strout of Amarillo; a half brother, Hobart Brown of South Lake; 3 nieces, Elizabeth Passmore, Daisy Strout and Barbara Strout all of Amarillo; several nephews and several great-nieces and nephews including Tiffany Tomlin and Stephanie Strickland
