Robert Cyphers

Robert “Bob” Cyphers, 86 of Amarillo died Wednesday January 29, 2003 at Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Swint, pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Church and Jerry Billington of Trinity Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cyphers was born in Lillydale, TN. He moved to Amarillo in 1966 from Altus, OK. He served in the Navy during WWII. He worked as a salesman for William Cameron Supply Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1979. After his retirement he worked for the Holiday Inn as a maintenance man. He married Wannie Osborne in 1939 at Hobart, OK. Survivors include his wife of the home, 3 daughters; Donna Norton of Mangum, OK, Carolyn Flowers of Lilburn, GA and Barbara Smith of Amarillo, 1 son; Robert D. Cyphers of Chattanooga, TN, 1 sister; Leida Higgs of Amarillo, 2 brothers; John Cyphers of Oklahoma City and Cordell Cyphers of Dell City, OK, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations be to the Calvary Pentecostal Church Building Fund.
