Robert Gray English Jr.

Robert Gray English Jr., of Amarillo, died October 3rd, 2019 in the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Hospital. He was surrounded by family, friends, and brothers in arms when he drew his last breath that morning. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S Osage St. Robert was born in Manhattan, New York, on May 1st, 1939 to Robert Gray English and Beatrice Lindberg English. Robert served honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Armys 82nd Airborne Military Intelligence during Vietnam, earning the rank of CW2 Warrant Officer and multiple honors, including a Bronze Star with Valor for heroic service in the line of duty. He always showed his compassion with both his words and his actions. He was a faithful and honorable man to both his family and country. Everyone who met Robert met a man they could count on for the rest of their life. Roberts integrity and compassion leave behind a legacy for all to strive to live up to. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of being in his life. Robert is preceded in death by his younger brother, Richard English and younger sister Patricia English. He is survived by his son, Kirk English, daughter, Lisa Mayo and husband Dean, grandson Eric English, granddaughters Raeana Mayo, Sabrina Mayo and Jenny English. Direct Cremation
