Robert Wayne Harris

Robert Wayne Harris Jr. of Amarillo died Monday July 29, 2019. The family will be holding a gathering at Rector Funeral Home Thursday August 8, from 6 to 8 Pm. The family also asks to bring your "OU" shirts in celebration of Robert. Arrangements are made by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Robert "Bobby" Harris was born to Robert Wayne Sr. and Jo Ann Harris in Guymon, Oklahoma January 30, 1954. He graduated from Guymon High School in 1972 going straight into College at Southwest State University where Robert graduated with a bachelors degree in 1976. Robert was a sports fanatic, it didnt matter the sport, he was a fan. He was a coed softball coach and enjoyed playing tennis and golfing but was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan. Robert never missed an opportunity to root for his team. Robert had a comical sense of humor always telling jokes and pulling pranks, but had the memory of an elephant, so if someone pulled one over on him, he was planning his next move. Robert was a generous man. He would do with out just so someone didnt have to. He was a passionate person. He loved meeting new people, which led him to Connie. He met Connie while they both worked at the Miller Paper and Packaging Company. The two of them hit it off very well. Robert married the love of his life February 11, 2008. The two of them were a power couple. Family was single handedly the most important thing in Robert's life. He was very competitive. He won several trips and awards through sales. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert Wayne Sr. and Jo Anne Harris Robert is survived by his wife Connie Harris, his daughter Bri and husband Andrew Smolen, two sons Joseph Hayes and James Hayes and his girlfriend Crystal Martinez, and one sister, Kim Guerra and her husband Louis Rutledge, and 5 grand-babies.
