Robert Louis Janzen 86, of Amarillo died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Victory Church. Interment will follow at Llano East Cemetery. Military honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Robert was born on Nov. 21, 1932 in Ochiltree County to Sam and Irene Janzen. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1950. Robert served in the Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a longtime barber in Spearman and Amarillo. He retired from the Amarillo Civil Air Patrol and was a member of Victory Church. He married his wife Shirley on Oct. 22, 1992 in Amarillo. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Roberta Rose Janzen, a sister, Avis Janzen Reid and two brothers, Cleo and Gail Janzen. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Randy Janzen and wife Linda of Omaha, NE, Scott Janzen and wife Marie of Woodward, OK and Mark Brittain and wife Kathy of Fritch; one brother Earnest Janzen of Perryton; his sister in law, Sylvia Janzen of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm to 6 pm Monday at the funeral home and request memorial donations to Victory Church 6300 Arden Rd, Amarillo, TX 79109 or BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 6600 Kilgore, Amarillo, TX 79106.
