Robert Gordon Kelley, 81, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rector Pioneer Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mobeetie Methodist Church with Pastor Weldon Read officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.
Robert was born December 24, 1944, in Dallas to Flora Mae Gordon and Clyde Kelley. He attended Mobeetie High School and played all sports, including football as running back, because he was fast, and he was in FFA and showed calves. In his early years, he jockeyed with his brother, Joe. Robert graduated from high school in 1962, then attended WTSU and studied engineering.
Robert worked at Levi Strauss for 25 years and BSA faculty services for 25 years. He loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kelley; his former wife and friend, Rita; his mother, Flora Mae Kelley; and Gordon Kelley, Beth Schoon and Joe Kelley.
Survivors include a brother, Jeff Kelley and wife Melie; his children, Kendall Kelley and wife Niki, Randall Kelley and wife Neely, Dee Kelley and wife Misty, Robynn Winegeart and husband Jared, and Bryan Kelley; his grandchildren, Dezra Lott and husband Stephen, Camron Kelley and wife Stephanie, Brandon Kelley, Keegan Kelley, Emorie Kelley, Keirstyn Kelley, Keiryn Kelley, Tristan Winegeart and Nicholas Winegeart; and his great-grandchildren, Olive and Dane Lott, and Noah and Eli Kelley.
