Roman Ruiz

Roman Ruiz, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, January 7, 2022. Mass is Friday 11:00 am January 14 at St Laurence Catholic Church. Burial will follow mass at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests for visitation Wednesday and Thursday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Roman was born February 21, 1938, in Nostic Jalisco, Mexico to Arnulfo Ruiz and Tomasa Muniz. Roman moved to Colorado from Mexico in 1974. He met the love of his life, Jane at the movies. They married in 1976. They were married for 45 years. In 1997, they moved to Texas. Roman was a family man. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He was very hands-on with them. Roman loved to sing and dance, his dogs, and working on cars. He was very good with his hands. He enjoyed tinkering and could fix just about anything. He was also very charismatic, never meeting a stranger. He loved to go to church and also enjoyed playing on Snapchat filters. Roman Ruiz was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Evelia Ruiz, one son, Ruben Ruiz, one granddaughter, Anahi Ruiz, two sisters; Matiana Simental and Julia Ruiz, three brothers; Porfirio Ruiz, Luis Ruiz, and Leocadio Ruiz. He is survived by his wife, seven daughters; Yolanda Ruiz and her significant other Michael Hernandez, Sylvia Gonzales and her husband Michael, Sandra Kelley and her husband Brian, Amanda Ruiz and her significant other Rafael De La Torre, Evelia Ruiz, Rebecca Ruiz and her significant other Julio Hernandez, and Elvira Quirindongo and her husband Pablo, four sons; Mario Ruiz, Juan Carlos Ruiz, Hector Ruiz and his wife Griselda, and Jose Antonio Ruiz, 34 grandchildren; Aaliyah, Mya, Michael Jr., Alexis, Jojo, Joaquin, Juan Carlos Jr., Esmeralda, Lizzie, Malaqui, Roman III, Bianca, Savannah, Sebastian, Brian Jr., Neaveh, Zachary, Jordan, Jeremiah, Hector Jr., Abraham, Daniel, Emmanuel, Crystal, Louis, Issac, Noah, Antonio, Diana, Juliana, Joseline, Marquell, Giovanna, Vincent, and six great-grandchildren; Leo, Abraham Jr., Luca, Noah, Kenya, and Leslie.
