Ronald Garner

Ronald Garner 70, of Amarillo died Monday, January 6, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Wayne Smith, pastor of Victory Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors will be by the Fort Hood Honor Guard. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Garner was born in Ponca City, OK. He served 3 tours in Vietnam with the Army. He retired after 30 years of service. After retiring from the Army, SSGT Garner began working with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville. He moved to Amarillo in 1989 to help start the Clements Unit. He retired in 1998. He married Lynette Bickerstaff on October 28, 1990 in Amarillo. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lynette; 2 daughters, Cheryl Feet and Cindy Garner, both of Sacramento, CA; 5 grandchildren, Brianna, Richie, Jessica, Michaela and Leilani and a sister Carla Carrier of New Hampshire.
