Ruby Melva Hefley, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at San Jacinto United Methodist Church with Bobby Medford, associate pastor , and Royce Womack, retired minister officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage Street. Mrs. Hefley was born in Woodward, OK. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She worked for the Amarillo Independent School District for 35 years. She retired as a cafeteria manager in 1986. She was a member of the Texas Teachers Retirement, as well as San Jacinto United Methodist Church, where she was in the Heritage Sunday School Class. She was also a member of United Methodist Women. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Leona Barnett of Houston, and Melva Magee and husband, Mickey of Waco; 2 sons, John Hefley and wife Elaine of Galveston, and Ron Hefley and wife Mary of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. The family will be at 4636 Bonham.
