Russell Lee Towery

Russell L. Towery, age 63 years, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 17, 2025, at BSA Hospital.

Russell was born in Amarillo on July 21, 1961, and lived in the area all his life. He was the son of the late A.B. and Juanita M. (Caldwell) Towery. Russell was a truck driver for Ben E. Keith Company and enjoyed collecting antiques and old cars and was a Model T enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brother, Rocky Towery. Russell is survived by his nieces: Elizabeth Ann Walden and Melissa Diana Garza, both of McAllen, Texas, and Lisa Marie Garza of Las Vegas, Nevada; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and dear friends: Kavan (Debra) Yarber, and Seth Yarber all of Amarillo.

A graveside service honoring Russell’s life will be 11:00 AM, Thursday May 22 at Llano Cemetery, 2900 South Hayes Street, Amarillo. Friends will be received 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 South Osage Street, Amarillo.
