Ruth Virginia Robbins

Ruth Virginia Robbins, 92 of Hereford passed away Friday, March 18, 2022. graveside is 10:00 am at Rest Lawn Cemetery and memorial service at 11:00 am Monday at Frio Baptist Church in Hereford Officiated by Alan Burkhalter of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Ruth was born In Hollis, Ok. on June 23, 1929, to Fred and Daisy Moreman. Her family moved to Hereford in the 1930s. She Graduated from Hereford Highschool as a salutatorian. After high school, Ruth went on to graduate from West Texas State University. She was introduced to the love of her life, Frank Robbins through his sister when he returned from WWII. They married in Hereford on June 30, 1946. They Lived in their farm home for 69 years. They were married until his death in 2015. Ruth was a woman of great faith. She was very active and devoted to the Frio Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing church hymns, reading her bible, and quoting scripture. Ruth was an active leader in the 4H clubs, the Hereford Sr. Citizens, and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, cultivating and planting seeds. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Marie Edwards and her husband Glenn. She is survived by three daughters; Carol Duvall, Genie Burkhalter, and Patty Jahn, three sons; Gerry, Scott and Steve Robbins, 20 grandchildren, 42, great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
