San Juana Almanza

San Juana Almanza 68, of Amarillo died Wednesday July 23, 2009 in Lubbock. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Alvino Alvarez, pastor of Word of Faith Ministries officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage Street, Amarillo, Texas Mrs. Almanza was born in Coahuila, Mexico. She moved to Amarillo more than 40 years ago, from Mexico. She was a very loving mother. She enjoyed taking care of her family. Mrs. Almanza will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silvester Almanza in 1971, 1 son Silvester Almanza, Jr., in 1994 and a daughter Anna Contreras in 2002. She is survived by 1 daughter, Alma Granados of Amarillo; 3 sons, Luis Manuel Almanza and his wife Adrienne, Valentin Almanza and his wife Teresa, and Javier Almanza all of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Manuel Puentes and Kenny Puentes both of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Norma Weatherholt and Irma Clark both of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
