Sandra Fitch

Sandra Fitch, 66, of Amarillo died Monday, March 28, 2005 in Amarillo, Texas Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, with Victor Miller of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel. Mrs. Fitch was born and raised in Amarillo. She married Woody Fitch in 1957 and was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. She worked for AISD for 35 years as a paraprofessional instructor for visually handicapped students until the time of her death. She was a member and past state officer of ATPE. She is a former recipient of the paraprofessional of the year award for the State of Texas. She was past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amarillo Chapter #787 and present worthy matron of Panhandle Chapter #760. She was past worthy advisor and mother advisor of the Palo Duro Rainbow Assembly 113. Survivors include: her husband, Woody Fitch; a daughter Cynthia Fitch-Steenson, husband Andrew Steenson and their children David, Joshua, and Zachary Steenson of Seattle, WA; a daughter Catherine Fitch York, husband David York and their children Parker and Nathaniel York of Houston, TX; a son Richard Fitch, wife Pennye and children Leslie, Ashlie and Matt Fitch of Amarillo, TX. Family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ashlie Fitch Medical Expense Account, 1st American Bank, The Children's Art Project c/o MD Anderson Cancer Center, or the Order of the Eastern Star Humanitarian Program.
