Sandy Renea Niavez

Sandy Renea "Nea" Niavez 60, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 am Monday, Sept. 19 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Robert Burton, pastor of Yes Lord Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Nea was born in Dalhart on Nov. 26, 1961, to Fermin and Rebecca (Fuentes) Montano. She moved to Amarillo in 1995 from Dalhart. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and caring for her family. Her home was always open to anyone who needed help. She adored her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and 'GiGi' Nea married Steve Niavez on Sept. 24, 1977, in Dalhart. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stanley Rian Niavez in 2021. She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Salcedo and her husband Lalo and Selena Niavez; two sons, Steve Niavez, Jr., and Samuel Niavez; one sister Loretta Moreno; three brothers, James Montano, Kendall Montano and Max Montano; five grandchildren, Makayla, Esteban, Alexcia, Michael John and Jose.
