Santos Geterudes Ramirez

Santos G. Ramirez went to be with the Lord on January 22nd, 2024.

He was born on November 16th, 1944, in Robstown, Tx to Daniel & Maria Ramos Ramirez. They moved to Abernathy, Tx in 1961 where Santos found the love of his life, Estella Ybarra.

They were married on November 14th, 1964, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Hale Center, Tx and enjoyed 59 years together.

The Ramirez family moved to Amarillo, Tx in 1978 where Santos provided for his family as a warehouseman and then spent the rest of his career as a truck driver where he was known as Rudy.

He logged over 1 million miles accident free and was commended for it and given a “super bowl ring” that he proudly wore daily after retirement. Mr. Ramirez was an avid sports fan but cheered for the REDSKINS, TEXAS RANGERS, and the TEXAS LONGHORNS THE LOUDEST. He enjoyed watching and supporting his kids, grandkids & great grandkids play sports, performing in choir, orchestra concerts and any and all activities when using their GOD given talent’s, to the best of their abilities. Santos was very active in the church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, communion minister & lecture. He made a point to always participate in the yearly Jamaica with Estella and their family at his side, to help raise money for the church, running the “WHEEL OF FORTUNE” booth.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Daniel & Maria Ramirez, his grandparents Eloisa Ramirez, Felipita & Ascension Ramos, sister Janie Aguirre and her husband John Joe Aguirre, Brother-In-Law Joe Lopez, Grandson Donald “Tre” Encinias III, mother-n-law Estela Ybarra, father-in-law Faustino Ybarra, sister-in law Mary Lucy Ybarra.

He is survived by his wife Estella Ramirez & their 7 children.

Santos & Stephaney Ramirez, Veronica Ramirez (Manuel), Orlando & Sian Ramirez, Patricia Ramirez (Eddie), Eloise Shelton (Rick), Anthony & Theresa Ramirez and Gabriel Ramirez, all of Amarillo, Tx, his 24 grandchildren & 27 great-grandchildren, Brother Joe Ramirez & wife Lupe of Abernathy, Tx, 3 sisters, Carmen Lopez & Angie Ramirez of Abernathy, Tx, Melie Champion & husband Eddie of Grand Island, NE. And In-Laws, Josie & Gilbert Salinas of Abernathy, Tx

He will be greatly missed by ALL his loved ones & those who knew him.
