Shannon Dewayne Sawyer

Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Coulter Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Davey, pastor, and the Rev. Lavon Thompson, pastor of Life of Praise Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Shannon was born Feb. 11, 1974, in Amarillo. He was a former employee of Plains Dairy in Amarillo. Shannon was a loving husband, father and friend. Shannon's greatest joy in life was helping his friends and family. He was an avid bareback rider throughout high school. He also enjoyed fishing, working on cars, riding horseback and simply spending time with the people he loved. He gave so much but asked for so little in return. He will be dearly missed by everyone he ever knew. He was preceded in death by his father, Rick Sawyer. Survivors include his wife, Christy of Amarillo; two sons, Blayne Mady and Braxton York, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Bayley Mady of Amarillo; his mother, Shirley Sawyer of Amarillo; a father, Hobert ""Bob"" Estep and wife Evelyn of Johnson, Kan.; and two brothers, Bill Miller and Mike Sawyer, both of Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
