Sherley D. Marshall 72, of Amarillo died Tuesday June 30, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Field, retired Baptist minister officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage Street. Mr. Marshall was born in Berryville, Ark., to Uvaldie and Loris (Wolfinbarger) Marshall. He served in the Army National Guard in Arkansas from 1957 - 1962. He moved to Amarillo 34 years ago. Mr. Marshall worked as an owner-operator and was dispatched for several truck lines. He worked as a manager for a private fleet and went on to own a truck brokerage business. He retired as a truck driver for Wal Mart. Mr. Marshall was a long time member of the Early Ford V8 Club of Amarillo and Antique Truck Club. He restored numerous antique vehicles. He married Hazel Bohannan on June 14, 1958 in Green Forrest, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, 1 daughter, Brenda Kay Williams of Branson West, MO; 1 son, Douglas W. Marshall of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren, Jerimie Marshall of Amarillo, Kendra Duggan of Osage, Ark. And Andrew Williams of Branson West, MO; s sisters, Janette Reynolds of Oak Grove, Ark., Kathryn Ferguson of Green Forrest, Ark. and Wanda Tucker of Springdale, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews.
