Shirley Gambrel

Shirley Gambrel 65 of Amarillo died Wednesday Jan. 7, 2004 at Mansfield, OH. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at First Foursquare Church with Eugene Staten, pastor officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Gambrel was born in Blanket, TX. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She worked as a teachers' aide at Caprock High School for 13 years. She was a member of the First Foursquare Church. She married Glen ""Bud"" Gambrel in 1955 at Clovis. He died in 2001 Survivors include: 1 daughter; Debbie Bigelow of Galion, OH, 2 sons; Stephen Gambrel and Scott Gambrel both of Amarillo, 3 sisters; Dolores Catron of Amarillo, Emily Pickard of Littlefield and Joyce Akens of Atlanta, GA, 2 brothers; Wesley Jacops of Amarillo and Teddy Jacops of Littlefield, and 7 grandchildren; Michelle King, Stephanie Osborne, Kisha Osborne, Valerie Osborne, B.J. Gambrel, Jaden Gracie Gambrel and Rodney Gambrel. The family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
