Shirley Sue Janzen, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on November 15, 1935, in Clarendon, Texas, Shirley's life was a testament to her loving nature and her unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and community.
Shirley's early years were spent in the warm embrace of her hometown, where she attended high school in nearby Shamrock, Texas. Her education laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and the joy of connecting with others. Shirley's career spanned over two decades at Sam's, where she was not only a valued employee but also a cherished colleague. throughout her career further highlighted her friendly demeanor and her ability to make lasting connections.
She was united in marriage to Robert Louis Janzen on October 22, 1992 in Amarillo, Tx where they enjoyed 26 years of life together.
Family was the cornerstone of Shirley's life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Louis Janzen in 2018; her father, John Howard Moree Sr.; her mother, Mary Marie (Upton) Moree; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Brittain; her sisters, Anna Newman and LaFon Flowers; and her brother, John Moree Jr. Shirley's legacy continues through her son, Mark Brittain and his wife Kathy of Fritch, Texas; her grandsons, Casey Brittain of Amarillo, Texas, and Shad Williams and his wife Hilda of Fritch, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Kailey Williams and Koby Williams of Fritch, Texas. Her memory will also be cherished by two step sons Randy Janzen and wife Linda, Scott Janzen and wife Marie she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by her kindness and grace.
Shirley's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her zest for life and her love for the world around her. She had a passion for crafts, finding joy and fulfillment in creating beautiful things with her hands. Shirley's love for visiting with people was evident in the way she could light up a room with her presence and leave a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she cherished going to church, where she found strength and community. Traveling brought Shirley great pleasure, and she embraced every opportunity to explore new places when she was able. At home, she found companionship and delight in the company of her calico cat, Callie, who was a constant source of comfort and joy.
Those who knew Shirley will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and friendly soul. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she had an innate ability to make people feel loved and valued. Shirley's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her beliefs.

Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and her memory will be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
