Shirley Jones

Shirley Jones 73 of Amarillo died Wednesday October 21, 2009 at her home. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Kerry Spinks, pastor of River Road Fellowship officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday at the Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Jones was born on November 14, 1935 in Portales, NM to George and Loleta Goodenough. She lived in the Amarillo area most of her life. She worked for the Kitter Corporation for many years. Mrs. Jones loved to golf and crochet. She won the BSA Hospice Golf Tournament in Pampa several times. She married the love of her life, Jake Jones on October 17, 1953 in Tucumcari, NM. She was a member of the Amarillo Cowboy Church and Arena of Life. She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Cindy Bullington and her husband Mike of Amarillo and Sandy Gilmore and her husband Rob of Georgetown; 4 sons, Richard Jones and his wife Cathy of Canyon, Johnny Jones and his wife Ginger of Pampa, Billy Jones of Amarillo and Sam Jones and his wife Sheri of Edmond, OK; 2 sisters, Mary Harlan of Mission and Charlene Fielkowski of Pawpaw, MI; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
