Socorro Orozco Duran

Socorro Orozco Duran 90, of Amarillo died November 29, 2018 in Amarillo. Private family services were held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Socorro was born on Sept. 23, 1928 near El Paso. She worked at the Whitehouse Dept. Store for more than 30 years. Socorro loved learning new languages and was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a single mother and raised her children with love and discipline. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco in 1968 and a son Fernando in 2001. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her son, Eduardo Duran and his Lourdes of Amarillo; one sister, Olga Urquisa of El Paso; her daughter in law, Maura Duran and seven grandchildren, Aremi Duran-Misktas, Nefi Duran, Alejandra Duran-Mejia, Alma Duran, Sujey Duran, Arriana Duran and Onice Duran.
