Stanley Ray Varner

Stanley R. Varner, 64, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 10, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, with Coy Upton of Harvest Life Center and Larry Harvey of Harvest Life Center, officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM in Friona Cemetery with Pansey Dalton of Woodville Pentecostal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage Amarillo, Texas 79103. Mr. Varner married Martha Lynn Dalton in 1971 at Friona. He lived most of his life in Friona and was a member of the Friona Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to bowl and bowled many games with his parents. He worked for John Allen Electric. He is survived by his wife, Martha Varner of the home; a son Ray Lynn Varner and his wife Renee; and one daughter Nicki Varner, all of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Krista Varner and one grandson, Dalton Varner, both of Amarillo; his mother, Stella Varner of Granbury; two brothers, Jimmy Varner and his wife Lindy of Glendale AZ; and Phillip Varner of Colorado Spring, CO; two sisters, Martha Shepard of Granbury and Gail Trevison and her husband Bob of Fayetteville NC; special friends, Mike and Martha Petschlete of Amarillo and lots of nieces and nephews the he loves very much. The family will gather at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM to greet friends. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
