Steve Meyers

Steven Meyers, 62 of Amarillo died Wednesday October 7, 2009. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Llano Cemetery, with Dr. Roger Hubbard pastor of Lake Tanglewood Community Church officiating. Military honors will be by Altus Air Force Base, Altus, OK. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St., Amarillo TX. Mr. Meyers was born in Amarillo on February 18, 1947. He grew up in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School. He attended Sul Ross State University. Steven served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he served two tours of duty. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Steven moved to Stratford in 1980. He worked as a bank auditor for several different banks. Steve married his ""Soul Mate"", Kathy on June 21, 2002. They lived at Lake Tanglewood until his death. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Lee Meyers and mother, Amy Joan Scott. Survivors include his wife Kathy, 3 sons, Scott Meyers and his wife Lisa of Amarillo, Brad Meyers and wife Neda of Elgin Oklahoma, Gabe Meyers and wife Cheri of Ada OK; 3 stepchildren, Casey Aston and wife Laura of Amarillo, Kim Aston of Gainesville, and Jade Ridenour of Whitesboro; Steve is also survived by his dad, Cliff Cook, his uncle and aunt, Steve and Juanell Scott, 2 aunts, Frances Crawford, and Wanda Derrick; 2 brothers, John Cook and Joe Mike Meyers and 9 grandchildren who meant the world to him and he loved dearly, Jessicka, Dakota, Kody, Conner, Skylor, Katon, Joseph, Colby, Lani, and Dayton. The family requests memorial donations to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
