Susie J. Sosa 71, of Amarillo died Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Monday, August 21, 2017 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church with Msgr. Rex Nicholl, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Susie was born on January 28, 1946 in San Antonio to Martin and Maria Sosa. She was a seamstress for more than 20 years. She enjoyed dancing, Bingo, movies, cooking, her Dallas Cowboys and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Chavez and her husband Tony and Angela Miller and her husband Damien; two sons, Lee Zapata and his wife Angie and Frank Zapata; two sisters, Janie Sosa and Josephine Sosa; one brother, Johnny Sosa and his wife Dalia; her grandchildren, Manuel, Ciara, Thera, Anthony, Christopher, Marqus, Hector, Mercedes, Damien Jr., Elijah and Sapphire; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Fernando, Parker and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. The family would like donations to be made to the American Heart Association.
