Tasha Marie Smith

Tasha Marie Smith of Bushland died Saturday, July 6, 2019. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Trinity Fellowship Church in the Youth Ministries building. Arrangements are being made by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Tasha Marie Smith was born October 7, 1972 to Cindy and Don Flint. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1990 with the world at her fingertips. Tasha was such a loving person with a beautiful soul. She had the most generous heart and opened her door to everyone. She loved helping people, no matter how big or small their need. She never met a stranger. She had a way of making friends feel like family, and family feel like friends. So many friends called Tasha their "best friend" because she made everyone feel just that. She was always so comforting through her words and her touch made you feel at such ease. Tasha graduated from Amarillo College Cosmetology school in 1993 and worked with her father, Charlie Flippo, in his salon. Once she became a mother, she ran a daycare in her home so she could stay at home with her children. Her home became a second home to so many children for over 10 years. In the latter years, she aspired to be a nurse because of her passion for wound care. She graduated from Amarillo College with an Associates degree in Nursing. She obtained a license as a Registered Nurse and spent many years working in long-term care units specializing in wound care. She obtained many certifications in her specialties. Serving as the Director of Nursing at Plum Creek Specialty Hospital was the highlight of her career. She loved her residents and staff like they were her own family. She was a mentor and shared her faith and love for Jesus Christ with so many. Tasha married Bruce Smith on September 1, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children meant the world to her, and she wore her title as "Nona" with great pride. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for her family, making people laugh, and late night chats with her friends. She lit up the room with her big smile, red lipstick, and high heels. She will be missed by so many. Tasha is preceded in death by her grandparents Danny and Gladys Olivier, Roy and Ethel Flippo, Guy and Louise Flint, and her favorite cousin, Brent Whitworth. She is survived by parents Charlie and Cindy Flippo, Don Flint, her husband Bruce Smith, children Ashlynn Walden, Colton Daniels, Olivia Daniels, Justin Daniels and wife Lacey, Nicole Mitchell and husband Jacob, grandchildren Braeley, Brek, Tanzley, Lincoln, and Ellie, brothers Bryant Flippo and Ryan Flint, sister Jessica Hawley and husband Cale, nieces Amberlee, Kaitlyn, and Bella Hawley, nephew Hudson Hawley, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Tasha prayed for many years for a cure for Epidermolysis bullosa, a skin disorder that affected her son Colton.
