Thomas Edwin Garner 80, of Amarillo died Wednesday August 26, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Everett Stevens, retired Christian minister officiating. Masonic Rites will be by Palo Duro Masonic Lodge #1239 A.F. & A.M. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Garner was born in Plainview. He was a Boy Scout and a member of the JROTC. He graduated from Amarillo High School. Mr. Garner served in the Army during WWII. Mr. Garner had worked for W.E. Neil and Assoc. in Borger and Heath Furniture, before working for Cen-Tex Portable Buildings, which he owned and operated for 30 years. He loved playing Blackjack in Albuquerque. He was a founding member of Washington Avenue Christian Church and Oakdale Christian Church. He was also a member of the Fort Stockton Masonic Lodge #1022 A.F. & A.M. He married Joyce Johnson in 1953 in Clayton. She preceded him in death in 1996. He is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Price and her husband Bill of Dumas, Terry Price and her husband David of Amarillo and Toni Turner and her husband Kevin of Medical Lake, WA; 7 grandchildren, Sarah, David, Abbey, Katie, Kade, Kasen and Kole; 3 great grandchildren, Jadan, Avry and Coen. The family suggests memorials be to the United Way of Amarillo.
