Thomas J. Gregg

A private gathering was held at the family home. Arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Pete was born on November 2, 1930 in Jumbo, OK, and moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Antlers, OK. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War where he received numerous commendations and medals. On November 11, 1964, he married the love of his life, Mary, in Amarillo. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Pete worked as a truck driver, for several years, at Gibbs Trucking and many other companies as well. He also worked for Lone Star Chrysler for 5 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. His family and friends will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Durant in 1990. Survivors include his wife; 5 sons, Russell, Danny, and Gary Gregg all of OK, and Ira and Donald Burris of TX; 5 daughters, Sherry Nichols of NE, Carla Sigler of OK, Barbara McNabb, Mary Anderson, and Ann Gonce all of TX; 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, or local charity of your choice.
