Thomas Howell

Thomas Howell 70 of Amarillo died Sunday February 17, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Cecil Burch, of North Amarillo Church of Christ and Loran Harper of Comanche Trail Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Howell was born in Valdosta, GA. He moved to Amarillo in 1969. He worked at Amarillo Hardware, Furr's Supermarkets and Amarillo Brake-O. He worked for Toot N Totum for 34 years as a manager, supervisor and merchandising manager. He retired in 2002. Mr. Howell was an avid sports fan. He loved NASCAR, NFL and professional baseball. He also loved gardening and spending time in his workshop. He loved spending time with his best friend ""Andy"", his Sheltie. Survivors include: his son, Kevin Todd Howell of Amarillo; his former wife, Peggy Howell of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Randy Howell and his wife Gloria of Amarillo, John Ward Howell and his wife Linda and Jimmy Howell all of Valdosta, GA; 1 sister, Betty Jean Howell of Valdosta, GA; 2 sisters in law, Gail Jean Forestin and her husband Dan and Debra Miriam Floyd and her husband Gary all of Amarillo; 3 granddaughters, Brittany Allison and Lindsey Suzanne, both of Amarillo and Chrystal Felecity of Okinawa, Japan; 1 great-grandson, Brady Howell of Amarillo and 2 uncles, Wallace McCall and his wife Betty of Jacksonville, FL, and Haskel Sikes of Amarillo. The family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice.
