Valente 'Zam' Zamarripa

Valente "Zam" Zamarripa, 83, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 23, 2021. The service will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 26 at New Life Church (406 S. Pittsburg) officiated by Daniel Rivera. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The Family will receive friends Thursday 4 -8 pm and Friday 6- 8 pm at the funeral home. Valente was born in Amarillo May 7, 1938 to Flavia and Marcelino Zamarripa. He was a hard-working man with a big sense of humor. he enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed history and loved the Fourth of July. He was a proud veteran but also enjoyed the family get-together. Valente loved his grandchildren endlessly. he was the person you could count on. His family knew they could count on his wisdom. Valente was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Blanca Zamarripa, two daughters; Elizabeth Ramirez and her husband Adam, and Brenda Crandall and her husband Matt, one son, Gilbert, four sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
