Valorie Jean Potts-Gentry

Valorie Jean Potts-Gentry, 60, of Amarillo died Friday, July 30, 2021. The family will host a memorial in the Rector Funeral Home Chapel 10-11 AM Friday. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S Osage. Valorie was born September 23, 1960, in Garden Grove, Ca. to Cecil and Carol Potts. She moved to Amarillo in 1982 soon after she met the love of her life, Rock, at the old Hot Rocks. They married on November 24, 1983. She was the most selfless person you would meet. She was very passionate about teaching. Her students meant the world to her. Valorie made an impression on everyone she met. She was feisty but had a huge heart. Valorie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Gentry, and one daughter, Kayla Gentry. She is survived by her husband, three daughters; Andrea Garza and her husband Angel, Skye Gentry, and Kiki Gentry, two sons; Joseph and Sawyer Gentry, and many close friends.
