celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Oasis Southwest Baptist Church with Chester Beavers officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Ms. Marks was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Amarillo to Elsie Hambrick. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Lynn Marks in June of 1971. She had two children, Michael Marks and Kris Daniel, both of Amarillo. She worked at Hilton Inn; then moved to Dunlap department store as a credit manager for 13 years. Ms. Marks was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She loved to work in her yard and was taking oil-painting classes at Amarillo College. She also loved to play basketball with her children. Ms. Marks was a member of Panhandle Boat and Ski Club for more than 30 years, and she taught her children how to ski and her grandsons how to do back-flips off the side of the swimming pool. She was more than a mom; she was a best friend. She was preceded in death by her mother. Survivors included her children, Michael Marks, Kris Daniel and Scott Daniel; two grandsons, Cody Marks and Jordan Marks; the dog that she loved, Megan; a sister, Elaine; and a brother, Phil. The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center in reference to Power of One Campaign, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
