A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 30 at Llano East Cemetery with Davlyn Duesterhaus, chaplain at BSA Hospice, officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Vida was born on August 2, 1928 in Wheeler. She had resided in Amarillo for the past 61 years, and worked as a dietary for many local nursing homes. Her children and grandchildren were the pride of her life, and she enjoyed spending time with each one. She took interest in animals, and quilting as well. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin T. Baker Sr; a daughter, Diane Higgins; and a son, Franklin T. Baker Jr. Survivors include 2 daughters, Betty Jo Adkins of Amarillo, and Mel Rubalcaba of Amarillo; 3 sons, Henry C. Baker Sr. of Dallas, Alfred Baker and wife Sallie, and William C. Baker Sr. both of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Franklin III, Clay, Christopher, Dianne, William; 5 great grandchildren, Courtney, Curtis, Jamie, Cameron, Evan; sister, Dee and husband Les of Norman, OK; nephew, Doug Laney and wife Linda of Dallas. The family requests that memorials be to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center.
