Virginia 'Betty' Duran

Virginia "Betty" Duran, 67, of Amarillo died Thursday August 27, 2020 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 pm and the Rosary will be Tuesday 6:30 pm at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Betty was born in Big Spring, August 23, 1953 to Felicitas and Manuel Carrasco. She was a very kind woman. She loved taking care of and helping anyone and everyone. There was no limit to her kindness. Betty took care of her children and their friends. She treated everyone as if they were her children. She was a sweet woman, an angel and a blessing to anyone that knew her. She was very optimistic, "If you cant find the light in something, then make it". She loved interior designing, cooking, and making her tortillas and salsa. Betty married the love of her life, Juan on October 13, 1968. They shared 51 years 10 months and 15 days together. She put her husband first. She was head over heels for him. Betty loved to travel. She loved to just take off and decide along the way where they were going. It didnt matter where she went as long as she was with her family. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Carrasco; her sister, Linda Nunez; her grandfather, Jesus Garcia; in-laws, Margarito and Josefa Duran; her best friend, Phylis Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband, mother, her two daughters, Christina Diaz and her husband Sido, and Allicia Duran; three sons, Juan Manuel Duran Jr. and his wife Tatiana, Juan Orlando Duran and his wife Amanda, and Juan Christopher Duran and his wife Katie; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
