Virginia Ledbetter

Virginia Ledbetter 89, of Amarillo died Friday January 16, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Llano East Cemetery with Windell Taylor, retired Baptist minister officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Cheyenne, OK. She moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Cheyenne. She managed the Red Grill at Woolco for 15 years. In 1980, Mrs. Ledbetter opened the Country Kitchen Caf, which she operated until 1989. She married Gene Ledbetter on March 12, 1956 at Wellington. She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Janice Robertson and her husband Ralph and Jennie Vaughan and her husband Stephen all of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Alice ""Tink"" Erwin of Amarillo and Madeline Scott and her husband Gordon of Tulia; 1 brother, E.B. Bowman and his wife Dessie of San Antonio; 4 grandchildren, Randy Hoobler and his wife Tonya, Rhonda Fulgham and her husband Bob, Nicholas Lightfoot, Kimberly Vaughan and her fianc Anthony all of Amarillo and 5 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations to Jan Werner Adult Day Care.
