Virginia D. Taylor

Virginia D. Taylor, 82 of Amarillo died Thursday November 22, 2007. Service will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Jim Smith, Sr. Pastor Emeritus at St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Taylor was born in Florence, SC. She moved to Pampa in 1948 and to Amarillo in 1965. She worked as a bookkeeper at Tascosa High School for several years before going to work at the Presbyterian Children's Home until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church and the Daughter's of The American Revolution. She married Don Taylor on July 26, 1947 at Hamlet, NC. He died in 2006 Survivors include: 3 daughters; Pam Sebastian, Cathie Place and her husband Larry, and Teresa Adesso and her husband Tracy all of Amarillo, 1 sister; Jean of Oklahoma City, a sister-in-law; Patsy Enloe of Kingsland, 7 grandchildren; Michelle Calcutt, Michael Sebastian, Lindsey Sebastian and Trevor Adesso all of Amarillo, Jason Funderburk of Slaton, Jenni Funderburk and Todd Place both of Canyon, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. The family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angels c/o BSA Hospice.
