Walter Samuel Mcgallian

Walter Samuel McGallian, 50, of Canyon, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023. The celebration of life will be at 11:00 on Friday, September 15 at Rector Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Samuel was born in Fairfield, CA. on July 31, 1973, to Jesse and Zola McGallian. He graduated from Canyon High School in 91. After high school, Samuel had big plans. He became an paramedic, working for Amarillo Medical Services from 93-02 and then joined the Amarillo Police Academy. He worked for Amarillo Police Department from 02-15. Samuel was proud to wear his badge. He had a huge heart and loved to help those in need. Sam had a passion for music. He loved playing the drums and the guitar. He always had a guitar in his hands or listening to music. He also enjoyed building his own guitars. He also loved to go fishing and Rooting on the Red Socks. He also had a passion for baseball and enjoyed playing softball. Sam enjoyed BBQing. He was an amazing cook. He enjoyed feeding his family and friends. Sam was a proud father. His son, Logan was his pride and joy. He was always making others laugh. Sam was a funny person. He touched many lives. He was a trainer for many years through the AMS and APD. So the up-and-comers looked up to him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zola McGallian, and his grandparents, Nod and Jean Crowley. Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Logan McGallian, his father, Jesse McGallian, his brother, Roger McGallian, his Memaw, Sue Campbell, and many Friends who are just like family.
