Wayne Alford

Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Loran Harper, of Comanche Trail Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Alford was born in Quanah, Texas. He married Barbara Ann Turpen on January 28, 1961 at Quanah. They moved to Amarillo in 1971. He worked as a truckdriver for 50 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Caprock Band Boosters for 10 years. He had been a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ since 1971. He is survived by many wonderful friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Maribeth Martin of Amarillo, a son, Tony Alford of Amarillo, and a daughter, Vonda Rush of Mason City, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Chris Martin and Matthew Martin, both of Amarillo, and Jason Rush and Brianna Rush, both of Mason City, Iowa; a sister-in-law Shirley Moore and brother-in-law Lee Moore, both of Amarillo; a sister -in-law Mary Jett of Meadow Brook, West Virginia; and an aunt, Joyce Hyden of Amarillo.
