Wayne L. Howard

Wayne L. Howard, 63 of Pampa, died Friday October 14, 2005 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo. Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at the Cowboy Church with Ty Jones, pastor and Butch Hearon of Booker Friends Church officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter. Mr. Howard was born in Shattuck, OK. He was raised in Booker and graduated from Booker High School. He moved to Pampa in 1972. Mr. Howard worked as a cowboy for Cockrell Feed Lot, Tejas Cattle Feeders and the McLean Feed Lot. He also worked at the J.T. Johnson Ranch in Mobeetie and the Bill Stockstill Ranch at Hoover. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He married Fonda Avery Wheless in 1974 at Pampa, and was a member of the Cowboy Church in Amarillo. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Vinita Howard, a brother Wendell Howard and 2 sons, Shad and Justin. Survivors include: his wife of the home; 2 sons, Waylon Howard and his wife Shawna, Don Ray Howard and his fiance', Windi Early of Pampa, 3 daughters, Patricia Wyant and husband Sam of Pampa, Beverly Kerlee and husband Russell of Justin, TX, Donna Prieb and special friend Ken Odle of Lincoln, NE, 1 sister, Connie Rabe and husband Bill of Booker, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Viewing will be from 1:30 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday and from 12:00 noon to 12:30 at the Cowboy Church.
