Wayne Melton

Wayne Melton 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday May 6, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Barney Railsback, pastor of Irwin Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Melton was born in Oklahoma. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He worked as a truck driver for many years and retired from Safeway. He loved watching his sons race cars. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Melton married Patricia Ricketts in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1996. He is survived by 5 sons, David Melton and his wife Janet, Mike Melton, Kelly Melton and his wife Atunya, Kent Melton and Lyndon Melton and his wife Tammy all of Amarillo; 1 brother, Jack Melton of Unger, OK; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-granchildren.
