Weldon Whaley Sr

Weldon Whaley Sr, 80, of Amarillo passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on December 9, 2022. The family will hold a celebration of Weldons life on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1pm in the family home located at 107 Rustic Trail in Amarillo. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage Amarillo, TX. Weldon was born on August 27, 1942, in Shellman, Georgia. For the better part of 3 decades, he lived life on the road driving a truck transporting freight from one side of the country to the other. He loved animals of all kinds including livestock, and his favorite dog Precious who was like a child to him. Weldon was stubborn and big hearted who valued friendship and loved his country music. He especially loved and cherished his family. Weldon spent so much of his spare time creating memories that were held in highest regards by each of them. Weldon married Mary who was the love of his life. Together the laid the foundation for the family and remained loyal to each other until Marys passing in 2008. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Mary. Those left to cherish his memories are his children John Whaley, Annette Kohn, Penny Whaley, and Weldon Whaley Jr and wife April, grandchildren Amanda Whaley, John Jr, Sean Whaley and wife Ashley, Shannon Justice, Dennis Alderson Jr and wife Danielle, Tasha Eperson, and Brandon Whaley. Weldon is also survived by his great grandchildren Cameron McCrae, Bailey Branam, Wyatt Shields, Jackson Whaley, Dominic Alderson, Kade Shields, Mason Spievy, Makayla Alderson, Austin Alderson, and Everett Ernest Whaley.
