Wendell Elzy Kindle

Wendell Elzy Kindle 71 of Amarillo died Wednesday December 6, 2006 at Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel with Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter. Mr. Kindle was born in Childress County to Elzy Frank and Ida Lee Kindle. He moved to Amarillo 42 years ago from Childress. Mr. Kindle was drafted into the Army twice. He worked for Connally Implement Supply, Hilton Industries and retired from Sunbelt Pump and Supply. He was also active in farming and ranching. Mr. Kindle married Francis Lewis on April 11, 1964 at Amarillo. He loved cooking out for his family. He was also fond of traveling to area lakes and to New Mexico in his fifth wheel. He was a loving husband and father and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Marlene Mitchell. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter; Sharon Kindle Black and her husband Skip of Amarillo, 2 sons; Paul Kindle and his wife Michele of Amarillo and Lee Kindle and his wife, Julia of Canyon, 2 sisters; Alma Masterson of Amarillo and Janelle McGhee of Huntsville, TX, 3 brothers; Mike Kindle and Ronnie Kindle both of Amarillo and Stan Kindle of Franklin, 4 grandchildren; Justin Black, Karlissa Black, Kaitlyn Kindle and Connor Kindle and 2 step-grandchildren; Dustin Thomas and Carle Thomas.
