William Edward Kelley

William ""Bill"" Edward Kelley, 69, of Amarillo died Friday April 1, 2005 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday April 4, 2005 at Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel with Alan Burkhalter pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter. Mr. Kelley while growing up lived in many parts of Texas and Oklahoma. He married Janette Broughton October 12, 1962 at Lubbock Texas. In 1966 they moved to Brownfield, TX where he began his teaching career in auto mechanics. Mr. and Mrs. Kelley then settled in Amarillo, in 1970 where he taught at Amarillo College, and Caprock High School. He retired from teaching in 1993. Mr. Kelley was very active in different areas of the Khiva Shrine Temple, such as the Cycle Escort Unit, Khiva Klowns, Mini Vettes, Provost, and the Mobile Nobles. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Baptist, a Christian man and loved his family. Survivors include: his wife of the home; 1 son Tracy Scott Kelly and wife Tina of Lubbock, TX; 1 daughter Allison Diane Gaut and husband Comer of Amarillo; 3 sisters Edith Emery of Lubbock, TX, Merle Rushing of Tacoma WA, and Barbara Howell of New Deal, TX; 5grand children, and 6 great-grand children. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Khiva Shriner's Travel Fund at 305 SE 5th Ave, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
