Winfred D. Howell

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Tucker, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Howell was born March 31, 1923 in Sherman, to Lonnie T. and Ora Elsie (Muncey) Howell. He was honorably discharged from the Army after serving during WWII. He moved to Amarillo more than 60 years ago from Memphis. He retired from the Amarillo Air Force Base as an aircraft painter after 22 years of service. He married Lena Marie Braddock on Feb 6, 1946 at Memphis. Mr. Howell was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Douglas Wayne Howell, 1 brother, Lonnie and a sister Mildred. Survivors include 2 daughters, Sue Winter and her husband Jim and Linda McCoy and her husband Lynn all of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Jeanene Smith of Dumas and Magdaline Gill of Yuma, AZ; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
