Winston Gideon

Winston ""Pappy"" Gideon 65 of Amarillo died Monday October 1, 2007 at his home in Claude. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Claude Cemetery at Claude. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Gideon was born in Fort Worth. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. Mr. Gideon worked as a long haul truck driver for many years. He married Dahlene Smith in 1971 at Weatherford. She died in 1997. He met the pride of his life, Tammy Harley in 1998. They moved to Claude in 2003. Mr. Gideon loved riding his Harley and being outdoors. He also loved his dogs, Thunder, Rebel, Nikki Dog and Bullet. Survivors include: his companion; Tammy Harley of Claude, 1 son; Terry Don Gideon of Wichita, KS, 2 daughters; Laura Gideon of Tulsa, OK and Lavada Daniels of Amarillo, 2 step-daughters; Candy Mason of South Carolina and Sandy Elliott of Alpine, his mother; Lois Gideon of McLean, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
